'Thoughts of Maytime' adlibbed after Meiron Pennar's translation of The Black Book of Carmarthen (Llanerch Enterprises, 1989). 'Bare Bones' inspired by the Wurunjeri healing invocation in C.M. Bowra's Primitive Song (Mentor Books, 1962).

Phil Legard's music seems to seep through the crevices of times and places not quite remembered. Echos of forgotten rites, the scent from a holy well, the fleeting shadow of some "other", all played on musical instruments that the local store has never sold. I love these sounds and melodies, the mix of notes and field recordings never fail to thrill my heart and lift my thoughts above the ordinary. Thank you.
